Fountain Valley : 2 Gunmen Loot Vault at Equitable Savings

Two gunmen rushed into a bank Tuesday afternoon and forced several employees and customers into the back of the building while they looted the vault and teller stations, police said.

The robbers, who fled on foot, stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the Equitable Savings Assn. at 9029 Garfield Ave., Police Sgt. Larry Griswold said.

The pair entered at about 2 p.m. and pulled handguns from their waistbands, Griswold said. One robber then directed the employees and customers to the rear of the bank. While one man went into the vault, the other took money from the teller stations, Griswold said.
