RCA’s new products division was offered for sale.
Frank McCann, an RCA spokesman, said the company will consider closing the division if a buyer cannot be found. The Lancaster, Pa., division employs 1,300 people. The company said the decision to sell was reached after a lengthy analysis of its strategic role in the long-term plans of both RCA and General Electric Co., which bought RCA last year. The new products division makes industrial vacuum tubes and surveillance cameras.
