POWER OF POP

I am sick and tired of people pickin’ on Robert Hilburn. Granted, he does invoke the name of Bruce a little too often, but his heart and critical sensibilities are in the right place.

And as to judging every band/artist on their own merit, that’s valid. But Diane Reesman’s assessment of “not a bad cut” on the Bon Jovi album--hah! Our best artists--from L.A.’s own Los Lobos to yes, Springsteen--balance their rock ‘n’ roll parties with thoughtfulness and insight.

There is a lot of good music out there. Talk to your radio stations about playing it.
