An Agoura Hills man who shot himself in the head, apparently during a game of Russian roulette, died Saturday morning at Westlake Community Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Marty A. Harris, 21, critically wounded by a single gunshot to the head, died at 2:50 a.m., said Michele Dye, a nursing supervisor at the hospital. His kidneys and other organs were donated for transplant, Dye said.

The shooting, listed as accidental by authorities, occurred Thursday night as Harris was drinking with several friends in his home, said Sgt. Richard Adams of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

According to several witnesses, Harris put one bullet in a .38-caliber revolver, spun the chamber and pulled the trigger, but no shot was discharged, Adams said.

Friends unloaded the pistol, but Harris then loaded it with two bullets and twice pulled the trigger, Adams said. On the second try, the gun went off.
