San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein has appointed a 15-member committee to help promote San Francisco as a major film production center. The committee hopes to raise up to $500,000 a year to promote the city as a film location for both television and the movies. “San Francisco is the only major city in the nation without a film commission or council,” said independent film producer Greg Snazelle, one of the 15 named by Feinstein. “We intend to promote, organize and entice any kind of film activity.” Snazelle is a leader in efforts to convert the 1.5-acre Mission Armory into a major film production complex.
