The St. Louis Blues, whose players have already set a club record for NHL games missed in one season because of injury, say left wing Brian Sutter will not return until next season.
Sutter, 30, has not recovered from a left shoulder injury he suffered when he was checked by Chicago Blackhawk defenseman Jack O’Callahan Nov. 15. Sutter had broken the same shoulder in January of 1986.
Dr. Robert Kerlan’s recent recommendation was that Sutter, the St. Louis captain, remain inactive for the rest of the season. Kerlan had originally put Sutter’s rehabilitation period at 4-6 months.
