San/Bar Reports $212,000 Net and Declares Dividend

San/Bar Corp. reported net income of $212,000 for the second quarter of its fiscal 1987, contrasted with a year-earlier net loss of $45,000. Revenue for the period ended Dec. 31 was $4.1 million, up 5% from $3.9 million a year earlier.

For the first six months of its fiscal year, the Irvine-based supplier of telecommunications equipment and repair services reported net income of $379,000, up 13% from the year-earlier $335,000. First-half sales of $9.5 million were 51% higher than the $6.3 million reported for the first half of the company’s fiscal 1986.

Directors of San/Bar also declared a cash dividend of 5 cents a share on the company’s common stock, to be paid Feb. 27 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 13. The dividend is the first that the company has paid since August, 1984. The company has 2.05 million common shares outstanding, making the dividend worth a total of $102,750.
