Strong safety Kenny Hill of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants formally has appealed the $5,000 fine levied against him by NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle for an alleged illegal tackle of San Francisco wide receiver Jerry Rice during a playoff game.
Hill’s Los Angeles-based attorney, Rob Glushon, said the fine “was not commensurate with the alleged acts committed and did not consider the wrongful acts of 49er receiver Jerry Rice which precipitated the incident in question.”
