A woman who was said to believe she had been Adolf Hitler’s mistress was identified by police as the person who shot the Rev. Carol Ruth Knox, 48, to death in her Antioch home last Sunday. Redding police investigator Dave Mundy said Kathleen Ann Miller, 25, also known as Kathleen Knighten, also is believed to be the person who killed Redding civic leader Lilburn (Red) Pasley, 73, and wounded his wife, Clarice, 72, last May 28. He said a letter in Miller’s handwriting obtained during the investigation of the Pasley murder showed the woman apparently had multiple personalities, one of whom could “turn into . . . Hitler’s mistress, Eva Braun.” After shooting the minister, Mundy said, Miller evidently stole her car, which crashed into a truck parked in Pittsburg after she fatally shot herself in the head with a sawed-off shotgun.
