Tonight is fight night at the Country Club in Reseda. And it figures to be a pretty tough night for three rising young fighters.

Take Michael Nunn for example. The North Hollywood middleweight, who fights out of the Ten Goose Boxing Club, takes his perfect record (20-0, 12 knockouts) into tonight’s 10-round main event of a card to be shown live nationally by the ESPN cable network.

But, Nunn will be meeting another unbeaten middleweight with an even better mark. Willie Harris of Philadelphia will enter the ring 21-0 with 18 knockouts. But this will be only Harris’ second fight since a 1 1/2-year layoff caused he said “by managerial problems.”

Nunn is at least lucky enough to know whom he is fighting. That is not the case for featherweight Tracy Patterson (16-0, 8 KOs), adopted son of former two-time heavyweight champion Floyd, and Alex Garcia of San Fernando, the national amateur super-heavyweight champion who will make his professional debut tonight.

Garcia is scheduled for a four-round fight and Patterson for an eight-rounder against opponents to be named today.

The last-minute search for able bodies to throw into the ring came about when several proposed opponents had dropped out for various reasons. As of late Thursday night, matchmaker Dan Goossen had several possible replacements but was awaiting final approval by the California State Athletic Commission.

One way or another, the fight card will start at 5:30 p.m.
