Youth Basketball Is a Year-Round Sport With ARC

The whole year is basketball season to Rich Goldberg, who proclaims his American Roundball Corp., “America’s No. 1 youth basketball program.” Since Goldberg founded ARC in 1978, it has grown to include more than 2,000 youngsters.

During basketball season, the top pre-high school players from the San Fernando Valley compete in the Valley Conference, which consists of more than 80 teams and 800 players.

Summer traveling teams play in prestigious tournaments such as the Las Vegas Invitational, where they have been champions of the high school division four times since 1978. The ARC ninth grade team has been champion of the Las Vegas Easter tournament.

Said Goldberg: “Our traveling teams are an accelerated program. We aim for the players to be on varsity teams by the time they reach the 10th grade.”
