Nichols Institute to Serve Hospitals Group
Nichols Institute of San Juan Capistrano said its wholly owned reference laboratory subsidiary is one of two reference laboratories in the United States chosen by the Voluntary Hospitals of America to provide diagnostic testing services for more than 750 hospitals that belong to the hospital association.
The Mayo Clinic’s reference laboratory in Rochester, Minn., is the other diagnostic testing facility selected by VHA.
William Mahan, Nichols’ chief financial officer, said the total contract--which becomes effective April 1--is worth more than $10 million a year in revenues to the two laboratories.
