A man wearing a black wig with a ponytail robbed a bank of about $2,500 Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The robber handed a note to a teller at the First Interstate Bank on Irvine Boulevard, Tustin Police Officer Terrie Richardson said. The note indicated that he was “heavily armed,” but no weapons were displayed, Richardson said.

The teller put about $2,500 on the counter. The man took it and fled into the crowded parking lot, police said. Police responding to the robbery were unable to find a suspect, Richardson said.
