American Student Dies in Train Derailment

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia —
A 22-year-old American student and two Malaysians were killed Wednesday when four cars of an express train left the tracks and fell into a swamp, the national news agency reported.
At least 23 people were injured, the Bernama news agency said.
Bernama said the dead included Janet Chiang, 22, of McLean, Va., who was on her way to Kuala Lumpur for a Hindu festival.
