COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS : CSUN Wins at Buzzer on Enright Shot, 61-60
Liz Enright, who averages just one point a game, came through with two when it counted the most Friday night.
Enright, who finished with seven points, hit an 8-footer with one second left to give visiting Cal State Northridge a 61-60 California Collegiate Athletic Assn. victory over Chapman.
Chapman led, 31-28, at the half and 44-33 when Susan Bergendahl hit two free throws with 13:04 to go, but the Matadors outscored Chapman, 13-4, over the next six minutes to cut the lead to two.
The victory moved Northridge (13-10, 6-4) ahead of Chapman (12-11, 5-4) into second place in the CCAA. Cal State Los Angeles was tied with CSUN for third entering tonight’s game at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Denise Sitton led the Matadors with a game-high 26 points. Valarie Hartsfield scored 13 for Chapman. Marianne Dixon had 11 rebounds and 7 points for CSUN.
