When Rhino Video announces its April Fool’s Film Festival next week, with the video firm’s new spring releases, it plans to offer viewers a home-video bonus: “The Wit & Wisdom of Ronald Reagan.” The joke is that the $7.95 release is a 60-minute blank tape.

As Rhino’s ad copy put it: “We hired a team of expert political analysts to scour thousands of hours of footage in search of the prime gems of wisdom from our beloved Chief Executive. Unfortunately, they all came back with the same futile conclusion--’we couldn’t find any.’ Thus we were forced to release a blank tape.”

The package will feature a ‘40s Hollywood-style glossy photo of Reagan, with blank quotations above his head.
