Newly relocated newsman Bill Moyers has withdrawn plans for an imaginative series of daily three-minute “bulletins” issued from the scene of the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. Failure to find a suitable time slot for the proposed “Moyers: Philadelphia Journal” forced the Public Broadcasting Service to drop the series. In what was called a “gracious” wire to PBS stations Thursday, Moyers--now at WNET in New York--allowed that “it was a good idea whose time had not come” and thanked the stations for acting quickly “to see if we could make this unexpected but intriguing idea happen.”
