Cambridge, Mass.-based Polaroid Corp. posted a big increase in profit for 1986 and higher worldwide sales than 1985. Net earnings for the quarter rose, U.S. sales revenue increased 14% and international sales increased 30%. “The worldwide introduction of the Spectra System, the substantial increase in consumer instant camera unit sales over the previous year, the weakening of the U.S. dollar and the successful defense of instant photographic patents were significant factors in improved performance,” a spokesman said.
