Orange County College Basketball : SCC Loses in Overtime, 75-69

Southern California College’s basketball team blew an eight-point lead with five minutes to play Tuesday and lost in overtime to Cal Baptist, 75-69, in a nonconference game at Costa Mesa.

Cal Baptist (12-18) rallied to tie the score in regulation, 60-60, then outscored Southern California (20-7) in overtime, 15-9.

The Southern California College men’s basketball team defeated Cal Baptist, 75-69, in overtime Tuesday night at Costa Mesa. The Times incorrectly reported Wednesday that Cal Baptist had won the game.

Randy Wynne of SCC led all scorers with 23 points. Greg Stopp had 20 for Cal Baptist, which played only six players. Four played the entire game.

Pacific Christian 92, Pacific Coast Bible Baptist 66--Mike DeVries scored 20 points and had 15 rebounds to lead the Deacons in a nonconference game at San Dimas. Burton Lalk added 17 points and 18 rebounds and Ken Osness added 18 points and 6 rebounds for Pacific Christian (15-15).

Biola 104, Christ College of Irvine 85--Robert Pallotta scored 25 points and made 5 of 6 three-pointers for the Eagles in a nonconference loss at Biola. Victor Townes added 29 points for Christ College (12-16). Johnny Griffin and P.J. Wenek both scored 25 points to lead Biola (25-1).

In women’s basketball:

Cal Baptist 70, Southern California 52-- Laura Lewis led all scorers with 27 for Cal Baptist (14-12). Lisa Terry had 14 for SCC (10-19).
