Atom Smasher
Columnist George F. Will (Feb. 15) makes a very convincing case for the public funding of building the $4.4-million super atom smasher in terms of the benefits for mankind. But he doesn’t address the question, why shouldn’t all the First World nations, including the United States, the Soviet Union, Western Europe and Japan, share in the staffing, funding and benefits of such important scientific development?
