Los Angeles City Councilman Michael Woo called on area residents to help find a hit-and-run driver who left an “inspirational community leader” seriously injured last December. Woo said Harry Gottlieb was struck by a car while pumping gas at a service station in Hollywood. The driver kept going. Gottlieb had one leg amputated and faces the possibility of losing the other. Police are looking for the driver of a 1977 light blue Toyota with the California license plate 299--Z--. (The missing letters are unknown.) Gottlieb was “the first ‘Man of the Year’ in West Hollywood,” Woo said. “We must find the driver who changed Mr. Gottlieb’s life in one fleeting moment.” People with information are urged to call Richard Clenner at the law offices of Rosenstein & Werlin at (213) 337-7373.
