PGA Breaks the Rules of Common Sense

Share

Why does the brain trust of the PGA Tour insist on subjecting the players to such trivial rules infractions? If Craig Stadler’s towel aided him so tremendously in executing his shot, then why not: Penalties for gloves, aiding one’s grip; penalties for caps, shielding one’s eyes from the sun and rain, aiding your vision; penalties for sweaters, allowing one to play in cooler weather? Why should a player be allowed to take off his shoe while playing a shot from water? Is he saving his shoe or building his stance?

The scorecard issue also needs modification. These guys have enough to do without worrying about their signatures compelling them to what amounts to a signed tax return.

Let the integrity of the game stand on its own merit.
