Invitational Meet Includes Leading Gymnastic Teams

Four of the nation’s top women’s gymnastics teams will compete in The Times Women’s Gymnastics Invitational at Pauley Pavilion tonight.

Heading the field is host UCLA, which is ranked second in the nation and off to its best start ever at 6-0. Other ranked teams competing are No. 4 Arizona, No. 5 Arizona State and No. 7 Cal State Fullerton.

Minnesota, with 1984 Olympian Marie Rothliesberger, completes the field.

The meet also has two of the nation’s top individual performers in UCLA’s Tanya Service and Arizona’s Mary Kay Brown. Service holds the nation’s third-best all-around score this season at 38.30. Brown owns the fifth-best total of 38.00.
