James (Fly) Williams, former American Basketball Assn. star, was shot and seriously wounded by an off-duty court officer in New York after a dispute with a third man over money, police said.
A friend, Derrick Washington, 19, also was shot during the incident Tuesday night in Brooklyn, and both men were charged with attempted robbery, unlawful imprisonment, weapons possession and menacing, police said.
