Alhambra : Park Improvements Slated

Share

The second phase of improvements at Granada Park, 2000 W. Hellman Ave., will begin next month with upgrading of the ball field and tennis courts, expanding parking at the Whitney Drive park entrance, automating the park’s irrigation system and adding new walkways, additional security lighting and an east pedestrian entrance.

These improvements, which will cost $350,000, will be completed in July. The first phase, completed last year for $335,000, included new picnic shelters, additional parking along Palm Avenue, a new split-level playground, a multi-purpose playing field and renovated restrooms.

In the final phase of the project, scheduled for late 1987 and early 1988, the swimming pool and pool buildings will be restored and a rose garden will be started. Those improvements will cost $500,000.
