Laguna Niguel : Car Crushes Woman Attempting to Start It
Impatient with waiting for a tow truck, a Laguna Niguel woman tried to push her disabled car and was crushed under its wheels Wednesday, California Highway Patrol Officer Ken Daily said.
She died later at a hospital.
Daily said Shirley Truhill, 67, was at her home at 24661 LaVida, waiting for a tow truck operator to start her car. But before the truck arrived, she decided to try to push the vehicle herself, Daily said.
Somehow, the car rolled over her, pinning her, he said.
A passer-by telephoned paramedics.
She suffered crushed ribs and other internal injuries. In addition, she suffered cardiac arrest as paramedics worked on her, Daily said.
She was taken to Mission Community Hospital, where she died shortly after arrival.
