Marineland was vacant after the former aquatic park’s last animals--a pair of aged walruses--were moved off the property on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Executive Vice President Jack Snyder of Harcourt Brace Jovanovich said the walruses, along with the park’s other animals, were moved to the company’s Sea World facilities in San Diego. Harcourt Brace Jovanovich bought Marineland from its Chinese owners on Dec. 31 for $23 million. The 33-year-old park is up for sale, and Snyder said that there has been a lot of interest in the property, for which no price has been set.
