Jean MacCurdy has been named vice president, production, at Marvel Productions.

The Van Nuys-based firm, which produces children’s programming such as “Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies,” was recently purchased by New World Pictures.

MacCurdy had been vice president of children’s programming for Hanna-Barbera. Previously she had worked for Warner Bros. Cartoons in various posts and, before that, was manager of children’s programming for NBC.
