Goalkeeper Zoltan Toth, one of the leaders in the Sockers’ last two Major Indoor Soccer League championships, signed a three-year contract Thursday, the Sockers announced. Terms of the deal, which will run through the 1989-90 season, were not disclosed.

Toth, who has shared goalkeeping duties the last three seasons with Jim Gorsek, is currently ranked No. 3 in the MISL with a 3.58-goals-against average. Toth was in the last year of his contract.

“Zoltan has shown time and again that he is one of the top goalkeepers in the league,” said Bob Bell, Socker managing general partner. “We are delighted in the knowledge that he will stay in San Diego for the next three seasons.”
