Charles Grantham, executive vice president of the National Basketball Assn. players’ union, said there will be no draft of college players this year “because the players have not approved it.”
The union has made abolition of the draft a key demand in contract negotiations between the players and the league. However, NBA spokesman Terry Lyons said: “We announced yesterday that the draft would be held on June 22. There has been no change.”
