While “Over the Top” continues to eke out U.S. box office (after three weeks, grosses are a not-so-Stallone-ish $12.6 million), Screen International, Europe’s leading trade mag, is going to the mat for the film. Predicting big, BIG foreign ticket sales (“For the trade, it carries only one message: Book it”), reviewer Nick Roddick also liked the film-- a lot. Calling it “Stallone’s best vehicle since ‘Rocky I,’ ” he declared it “a finely tuned, adroitly calculated melodrama with almost limitless potential.” Indeed.
