Constance H. Smith has been named president of the Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Area Churches. Smith is a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. Named vice presidents were the Rev. Nicholas Iyoya of First Presbyterian Church of Altadena, the Rev. Floyd Lawson of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pasadena, the Rev. Byron Nelson of Pasadena Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Sylvester Gillespie of Scott United Methodist Church in Pasadena.
Dr. Ara V. Yaghjian of Sierra Madre has been accepted to the San Gabriel Valley Chiropractic Society. Yaghjian, a chiropractor in Pasadena, is a member of the American Chiropractic Asn. and the California Chiropractic Assn.
Dr. Bryn J. Henderson has been appointed assistant dean of clinical sciences at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona. Henderson also serves as chairman of the Department of Family Medicine and is a member of the state Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Loren Wendt has been named executive director of the Mt. San Antonio College Foundation. Wendt previously served as director of community relations at the college.
Veterinarian Raymond A. Weitkamp of Arcadia has been awarded the Don Mahan Memorial Award for his dedicated service to veterinary medicine by the Southern California Veterinary Medical Assn. The award was named after Mahan who served as executive director of the association from 1955 to 1986. Weitkamp graduated from UC Davis and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Assn. and the American Animal Hospital Assn. He has a veterinary practice in Monrovia.
