NBC News correspondent Connie Chung says network television news is still run by a “boys’ club” despite the on-screen promotion of women. Speaking to about 700 people Friday at the first American Women’s Trade Fair in Colorado Springs, Colo., Chung said the prominence of women TV reporters creates an illusion of female influence. “There was a big push in the 1970s to hire women, but we’re in a lull today and we need to change that,” she said. “We’re not doing as well as we might think we are.”
