Singer Marie Osmond says marriages fare better if couples don’t live together first. “You start backward if you live together before getting married,” Osmond told McCall’s magazine. “I think you should start with being friends, not with intimacy first. That’s not what marriage is about, anyway. It’s about friendship and wanting to be one. If you both feel that way, it’s smooth sailing. Selfishness is the problem.” Osmond is now married--for the second time--to record producer Brian Blosil. Her first husband was Stephen Craig, with whom she had a child.
