Eamonn Coghlan of Ireland outkicked countryman Paul Donovan on the last lap to win the two-mile in the Dairy Crest Invitational indoor track and field meet at Cosford, England.
Coghlan was a winner in his first indoor race in Britain with a time of 8:24.61.
Welshman Colin Jackson upset American Tonie Campbell, the world indoor champion, and Canadian Mark McKoy in the 60-meter hurdles with a 7.52-second clocking, fifth fastest in history. Campbell and McKoy were timed in 7.62.
