A “massive” winter storm buried higher elevations of the West under heavy snow from Montana to Arizona, dumping as much as 2 1/2 feet in Utah and fueling severe thunderstorms that produced tornadoes in Muday and Del Rio, Tex. The Pacific storm, which crept eastward, was centered over southeast Colorado by late evening and was bringing severe thunderstorms to Texas and Oklahoma. Snow fell from the Dakotas into the Rockies. By Monday morning the storm had dumped 30 inches of snow on Duck Creek, Utah. Flagstaff, Ariz., was hit with 11 inches.
