The new French breakfast: croissants, cafe au lait . . . and Dan Rather. That’s the way it was Tuesday morning when the CBS Evening News debuted on a French pay-TV network. Monday night’s news broadcast was sent by satellite to France and shown in English with French subtitles by Canal Plus, a pay-TV network.
