CBS’ fall lineup will include five more minutes of prime-time commercials a week, the network said Tuesday. A network spokesman said the increase should be imperceptible to viewers. CBS has about seven minutes of network commercials in an average prime-time hour, or about 154 minutes, a week, he said. How CBS will squeeze in the extra ads remains to be seen--either through a reduction in programs or in the promotions for them. NBC and ABC have no similar plans, spokesmen said.
