A new proposal to get pitcher Roger Clemens back into training camp has been rejected by the Boston Red Sox. Randy Hendricks, who represents Clemens with his brother Alan, said that they had made a counterproposal of a one-year, $950,000 contract for the 1986 American League MVP and Cy Young Award winner.
“It’s too much money and there’s no way we’re going to pay,” Red Sox General Manager Lou Gorman said.
