Linebacker Lawrence Taylor of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants told students at Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, Va., that he became addicted to cocaine because he was earning more money in pro football than he knew how to spend.
“All of a sudden, you’re talking four, five, six, seven thousand dollars in your pocket and you try to figure out what to do with it,” Taylor said.
“I acted a little immaturely. I said, ‘Let’s have some fun,’ and I started experimenting with cocaine. I tell you the truth--it was fun,” he said.
