Showers Possible, but We’re Due for Some Warmer Weather
The tail end of a weak cold front is expected to bring brisk breezes--and a chance of showers--to San Diego today. But a high-pressure system will keep most of the clouds away and bring warmer temperatures to the area beginning Wednesday.
The National Weather Service said there was a chance of rain in the southern part of the county this morning after overnight showers in North County. However, the gray skies are likely to clear up by this afternoon as a small high-pressure system begins to build, forecaster Richard Stitt said.
“After this system goes through, a slow warming trend will move in from Wednesday through the end of the week that will protect Southern California,” Stitt said. “It’s a tail end of a very weak system.”
The storm that hit Saturday brought 0.32 of an inch of rain to Lindbergh Field.
The 15- to 25-m.p.h. winds that are expected to move in today and Wednesday will not reach the intensity of the winds of the last two weekends, forecasters said. Surf is expected to be 2 to 4 feet.
Temperatures also are expected to rise at Lindbergh Field from a high Monday of 62 to a high today of 66 degrees.
