The government has opened a preliminary investigation into 150,000 1985-86 Dodge and Plymouth Colts for alleged sudden acceleration problems, according to documents. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began the inquiry last month after receiving six reports of sudden acceleration incidents in the Mitsubishi-made subcompacts marketed by Chrysler Corp. The inquiry was disclosed by the private Center for Auto Safety.
