LOWELL, Mass. —
Fire swept through a 19th-Century factory complex Monday night, destroying or damaging six buildings and doing an estimated $15 million in damage, officials said. No injuries were reported.
Workers on the third floor of one of the buildings in the Lawrence Manufacturing Complex escaped.
The six buildings were mostly vacant, but still housed a textile machinery manufacturer, a publishing company warehouse and a power plant for the complex, officials said.
