More than 800 journalists in Hong Kong have signed a declaration pledging not to reveal confidential sources if they are charged under a controversial new press law.

the declaration, which appeared in Hong Kong newspapers Monday, said the journalists strongly opposed the legislature’s passage this month of a law making publication of false news a crime.
