Chris Washburn, who gained 25 pounds while spending six weeks at the ASAP Clinic in Van Nuys attempting to recover from a five-month cocaine addiction, returned to the Golden State Warriors.
“I am very confident right now,” he said in Oakland. “It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this good. . . . I’ve weighed the negatives and positives about my life. I’ve led the life of a dope addict and I don’t want to go back.”
Washburn, the No. 3 pick in last year’s draft, said he did not use cocaine while at North Carolina State.
“I started getting into it a little over the summer and more and more after I got here,” he said. “It was a gradual thing.”
