Pat Morita, star of ABC’s “Ohara” series and the two “Karate Kid” films, received the lifetime achievement award given by the Assn. of Asian-Pacific American Artists. “I hope I look as tall as I feel right now,” Morita told about 3,000 people attending the Beverly Hills award dinner Monday night. Association President Ernest Harada said, “Pat Morita symbolizes in so many ways the achievements of a man not so much as an Asian as much as an artist--no matter what his race.”
