Veteran jazz drummer and band leader Buddy Rich has been released from UCLA Medical Center, two weeks after undergoing extensive surgery for a brain tumor. Rich said he was “happy to be out, and expecting to rest up for a couple of months.” He added: “I’ve been very touched by all the calls and good wishes--that really helps me to make it through some trying times.”
