Lawndale : Development Moratorium
The City Council voted 4 to 1 last week to impose an emergency 45-day moratorium on all commercial development, except restaurants.
The Planning Commission had recommended the moratorium until new commercial parking standards can be developed. The commission said inadequate parking has created traffic problems.
Assistant City Manager Paula Cone said the moratorium will have little effect because few projects are planned.
