Glendora : Study May Spur Senior Site

Several backers of senior citizen programs say they believe that a study of Glendora’s services for the elderly will result in establishment of a senior center. The $12,000 survey was ordered by the City Council last October and conducted by the Center for Applied Social Research at Claremont Graduate School.

The study, which was released last week, found that Glendora’s 6,000 residents over the age of 65 have lower average incomes and need more support services than the rest of Glendora’s population of about 40,000.

Ruth Harper, president of the Glendora Council on Aging, said the survey may be the first step toward a center where older residents can get information about services. The City Council has not acted on the report.
