Chime Time Wins Santa Anita Feature
Chime Time scored a 2-length victory Wednesday in the $67,500 Baldwin Stakes on the hillside turf course at Santa Anita before a crowd of 22,170.
Ridden by Pat Valenzuela, Chime Time ran the about-6 1/2-furlong race in 1:15 and paid $7.20, $4.60 and $3.20. Sweetwater Springs, ridden by Antonio Castanon, was second and returned $4.20 and $3.20. McKenzie Prince paid $4.60 to show.
Laffit Pincay, the leading rider at Santa Anita, rode three more winners--Ab Original ($8.60) in the first race, Lovely Candy ($6.80) in the fifth and Symbolically ($4.20) in the ninth.
